Manage BOM

Use the Bill of Material Master [S1000] screen to add, edit, copy, or delete the parts associated to a BOMClosed A bill of material, or BOM, is a list of parts required to build another part..


Before adding a BOM, you require:

  • All parts, components, and raw materials for the BOM as a separate part record on S1009.

Note: All parts must be added in the Parts Master screen before they can be used in a bill of material. For more information, see Manage Parts.

To add a part to a bill of material:

  1. Navigate to the Bill of Material Master [S1000] screen.

  2. Select the desired Parent Part.

  3. On the screen task bar, click Add.

  4. Enter the desired information.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 to add the other component items to the parent part BOM.


You have added a bill of material for the parent part. Next, add the routing detail for the part on S1014.


  • To action a previously created item, select the item and click the desired mode: Edit, Copy, or Delete.

  • To add Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Planning parameters, navigate to Part Master.

  • To archive items that are no longer in use:

    • In the Archive field, select D

    • In the Status field, select Inactive
