Create Work Instructions

Use the Express Work Instruction [S1090] screen to quickly add new work instructions based on previously created PowerPoint files.

Prerequisites

Before adding the work instruction, you require:

  • Part Routing, Work Center, or Maintenance steps

  • PowerPoint file to attach

To create work instructions:

  1. Navigate to the Express Work Instruction [S1090] screen.

  2. Select the desired Type.

  3. Select the ID. If you selected a Type of Routing, then select the Op as well.

  4. Click to launch the File Picker and select the file.

  5. Select the WI Type.

  6. Click Create Work Instruction.

Result

You have created a work instruction that will be added to the automatically created work instruction group. The new group ID will be the name of the ID selected in step 3. If the Type was routing, the group ID will have the Op number added at the end of the ID. You can now assign the work instruction on S1019 for the work center, S1014 to set the work instructions to display at the work center where a part is routed to, or S1161 for maintenance instructions.
