Manage Part Safety Stock

Use the Safety Stock [S1914] screen to add, edit, copy, or delete part safety stock requirements. The part safety stock values are then taken into consideration when the OnRamp MRP is run.

To add part safety stock requirements:

  1. Navigate to the Safety Stock [S1914] screen.

  2. Select the desired Part.

  3. On the screen task bar, click Add.

  4. Enter the desired information.

  5. Click Save.

Result

You have added a part safety stock requirement that will take effect on the select Target Date.

Notes

  • To action a previously created item, select the item and click the desired mode: Edit, Copy, or Delete.

  • Target Quantities are not cumulative. For example:

    • A part has a Target Quantity of 25 on 2019/5/20

    • A safety stock entry with a Target Quantity of 50 is added with a Target Date of 2019/6/1

    • The safety stock for the part increases by 25 to 50 on 2019/6/1

  • Setting the Target Quantity to 0 will result in the safety stock requirements for that part to decrease to zero starting on the Target Date. This should be done if a period of high demand for the part is no longer necessary.
